We Offer Sculptra to Fill In Hollow Regions of the Face
The skin is the largest organ in the human body. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the fact that it covers our entire body. Apart from the fact that it is the largest organ, it is also one of the most visible.
Imperfections in your skin tend to be the first things that other people see. Now, there are cosmetic treatments involving the use of injectable dermal fillers to correct skin imperfections such as facial wrinkles and hollow regions.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are basically gel or liquid-like substances that get rid of these imperfections by elevating the dermis space that lies below the imperfections. The results of dermal-filler treatments are fairly noticeable without being unnatural-looking, and they tend to last for several months.
One of the most effective dermal filler treatments we offer is called Sculptra. This treatment is used to eliminate hollow regions in the skin. Sculptra has been in use longer than other filler products such as Restylane and Juvederm.
However, it is relatively less known compared to the other two products. This may be because its results do not appear immediately; instead, they appear gradually and last longer than those of other fillers.
Unlike Restylane or Juvederm, which literally fill in the wrinkles, Sculptra works to improve overall facial volume. As a result of this, the skin is lifted, filling in the hollow regions naturally. This is why it is also referred to as a “liquid facelift.”
What Exactly Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid collagen stimulator. It works within the deep dermis instead of working topically. It helps stimulate collagen production in the tissues in order to restore the volume and inner structure of the skin.
When the Sculptra microparticles get absorbed by the skin, they start to stimulate the production of collagen. The collagen strands build, gradually restoring the volume of the facial skin. This leads to fuller skin without the moderate and harsh facial folds and wrinkles that were once obvious.
The Treatment Procedure
The Sculptra treatment procedure will begin with a consultation, where Dr. Kaye will get to know your entire medical history. This includes allergies, previously existing medical conditions, and any medications and supplements you are taking. Once Dr. Kaye has determined that you are a suitable candidate for this procedure, you will be provided with a date for the treatment.
The procedure begins with a mapping of the injection sites on the skin. These chosen sites are then cleaned. A topical anesthetic is applied to reduce the mild discomfort that is known to arise with such procedures.
After this, Dr. Kaye will inject the marked areas with the Sculptra solution. Multiple small injections will be carried out.
Post-Procedure Care
Unlike surgery, a Sculptra treatment is a simple minimally invasive procedure, which means you can resume your usual routine almost instantly. The results will start to show in a few weeks and can last for up to two years or in some cases even longer. There may be some mild swelling and bruising, which is common and not a cause for worry.
