Facelift (Rhytidectomy) Clarksville, TN
Rhytidectomy, more commonly known as facelift, has become a very popular facial plastic surgical procedure. A facelift may be an excellent choice for you if your mid and lower face shows signs of aging, such as deep folds between the mouth and the cheek, loose skin around the jawline, or jowls. These signs of aging, as well as others, can be aggravated by factors like heredity, personal habits, the pull of gravity, and sun exposure. Through a facelift, our plastic surgeon can help your face look its best, giving you a more youthful appearance and a natural look of health.

If you are interested in a facelift and would like to find out if it is really the right procedure for you, the best thing you can do is schedule a consultation with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kaye.
What will Dr. Kaye and I discuss during my consultation?
What Should I Do Before Facelift Surgery?
You should speak with Dr. Kaye about your medications, since some may need to be temporarily discontinued or adjusted. Certain medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin, and aspirin-containing medications, may be suggested for discontinuation. It is also critical to refrain from smoking before your facelift treatment.
You will have to give a detailed account of your medical history, including any health problems you’ve had, any medications you’re taking or have taken in the past, and any allergies you may have.
How long is the procedure?
A facelift surgery typically lasts between three and four hours. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia for a safe and rapid recovery.
Dr. Mitchell D. Kaye minimizes incisions and carefully hides them in the hairline and around the ears. He is an expert in facelift surgery and, through his years of experience, has developed a unique personal technique that can strongly lift the deep tissues of the face and produce a natural, “non-operated” look.
How long Will the Recovery Take
Most patients need to be home for about a week after the surgery to ensure proper recovery. During this time, it is best to avoid work or social obligations in order to allow you to rest. Sutures are removed after about one week, and most patients can resume their normal daily activities and work after approximately 7-10 days. Aerobic exercise can be resumed after two weeks, and weightlifting after three weeks post-surgery.
Dr. Mitchell D. Kaye may recommend other procedures to be performed at the same time to complement the facelift, such as liposuction of the face and neck (included with the facelift at no additional cost), facial skin care and peels, and the option of fat transfer to the face.
What to Expect After Facelift Surgery
As the swelling and bruising recede, the full benefits of a facelift will become apparent. Remember that the effects of a facelift are not permanent. With aging, the skin on the face may begin to droop again. In general, a facelift’s results should last ten years.
What is the Cost of a Facelift?
Dr. Kaye and our team at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center of Tennessee will go over pricing for your facelift in Clarksville, TN during your consultation.
