Recovery Tips After a Breast Lift

Thoughtful preparation and aftercare will help speed your recovery after breast lift surgery. Let the surgeon know in advance about any medical conditions or medications you are taking. It’s not uncommon for them to recommend you avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications that could increase your risk of bleeding.

Breast lift surgery requires that you be fully sedated. This means you will need to avoid eating or drinking after midnight the day before the procedure. You will also need to have someone drive you home afterward. It’s also a good idea to have someone at home to help out for a few days while you get back on your feet. Plan to take some time off from work and avoid strenuous activities for at least a week.

On the day of the procedure, you should dress in loose fitting clothes to help make dressing and moving easier. After the surgery we will provide you with a post-operative bra.

A small plastic tube might be inserted under the skin to help drain a little post-operative bleeding. Your surgeon will explain to you how to properly care for it and any stitches, bandages or dressings.
